Completed in May, 2009, this facility was designed to house the Grand Island Police Department as well as operations of the Hall County Sheriff’s Department. A third user group included the Drug Court. Mixing these three groups in a manner that provided the proper separation of their unique clientele, drove the layout of the lobbies and circulation flow. A common lobby was shared by the City and County Police Departments with each department essentially located on opposite sides of the lobby. A separate entrance served the Drug Court. The sharing of some common use space, such as the training facilities, allowed for generous square footage and amenities in these areas.
